February 2015 - Haul

We all love a good Haul and here are a few of my purchases this month

I decided to get onto Escentual's , a site which i really do love and like Boot's you can collect points on a point system.

The Seroznic Spray from La Roche-Posay was high on my list as i have been having some trouble with my skin lately. I will be writing a full review on this after i have had a good few weeks of using it, so stay tuned!

I was also low on shampoo and this Vichy's Derco's Anti-Dandruff range is one of my all time favourites, however I had never tried to the Sensitive skin version. My skin isn't in great shape lately and my eczema is sadly in full swing and hopefully this will ensure my hair is not a victim and is kept washed with a great product as well as being protected.

My current Bare Mineral's foundation is down to it's last few shakes of the pot. This time i decided to go for the fair shade to see if i prefer it over fairly light. In these winter months i have noticed if i use the shade fairly light if i apply it wrong, especially with my early work mornings, my skin could look patchy in shade.

I also picked up a Mineral Veil, this is a perfect finishing powder, and not just with bare mineral's product. I highly recommend it.

This last product was a complete splurge, as a huge fan of cleansing oil, I decided to pick up a Dior instant cleansing oil.  This is a really nice product, but i can't say yet i have noticed much difference in this to the DHC cleansing oil, bar it smells better or the Superfacialist Vitamin C+. I think you might be better to save a good £13 or so and buy one of the more affordable options.

And that was my haul. Feel free to comment with your favourite recent purchase :)

MAC Lipsticks - Viva Glam VS Creamsheen

MAC is one of the most rated brands for lipstick's on the market. I was keen to see what all the fuss was about and what is the difference between the two. I decided to Pick up one from the VIVA Glam range, VI Frost (In the red) and Coral Bliss (In the Silver).

The two were beautiful colours, the Frost colour is more of a plumb red with glitter and the Coral Bliss is a Coral Pink. I picked both of these because of the colours when i saw these on the counter. So I decided to try these out.

Coral Bliss I can't say I am happy with this lipstick that much, it did not pay off much on my lips, which are normally quite pink. However this colour did work well, when i got it to work. The formulation of this lipstick, which i assume is for all the Creamsheen lipsticks was very difficult to work with. It took a good few applications and the lipstick felt very solid, it didn't seem to blend very well. I assume these are meant to be a matte finish, which i feel is a bit deceiving for the title.

Frost however was miles better, i love how this colour looks on my lips and looked great with my colour. The lipstick was a lot softer and only took one application. It even had a fantastic smell which made applying it enjoyable. I love a nice smelling lip product. The product was very blend-able and easy to work on the lips. I just loved everything about this lip product.

Overall, i don't think i will be quick to repurchase a creamsheen after i picked up this one, unless i hear anything otherwise, maybe i just got a bad lipstick or something but it wasn't as creamy as it seemed. However the Viva Glam range, i would love to extend and possible try the satin to see if these range are any different.

Kiko Make Up Haul

After coming across Kiko in Italy, I have always wanted to create my own eyeshadow palette with their infinity and infinity and sparkle eyeshadows and try the Universal Fit foundation. I decided to order this online because if you know the store and it's layout, you really get sucked into the eyeshadows and literally want to buy one in every shade you love. A good thing and a bad thing all in one go.

The palette was really easy to put together, it has a new system called the Clic system, which i have to say is a very typical but genius Italian trait and it makes it so much easier to create a palette. I really love this feature as i feel they are a lot easier to create than the mac palettes. The mac palette lid is a lot more flimsy and sometimes to me it feels like the little decanted eyeshadows will fall out.

Sadly one eyeshadow came to me damaged but Kiko have give me a voucher (more than i paid for the eyeshadow!) so i can spend to get a new one and for some reason I couldn't count and ordered one eyeshadow too short. However i am very happy with the colours. I went for more a neutral pink tone as for me i really think pinky tones suit my eyes as I am very fair. I think my next colour will lean more towards the brown.

The shades are extremely pigmented and very affordable, I picked these in the sale for £2.80 each, £2.80 in their current sale! These are usually £5.90 each which by MAC standards these are currently at the minute way way less than the MAC which retail at £10.00 for de-potted or £15.00 for potted eyeshadows.

I will for deffo be heading over there on payday to spend my voucher and pick up some more colours.

The Universal Fit hydrating foundation is also an amazing product and after seeing this one mentioned around the internet i had to pick it up. It currently retails at £6.90. I got this in the sale at £5.60 and i love it, the formula is spot on for my skin and it blends in so well. It feels more like a bb or cc cream than a foundation. I think this has really brought back my love for liquid foundations. Bar the MAC Studio Fix, foundation for me is a hit and miss, a lot of them never suit me, cling to my dry patches and don't last long. You won't be disappointed because the Universal Fit one has nailed it.

Since i will be going back to Italy to holiday this year, if i find a Kiko store (even though we do have one near where i live!), I don't think i'll be coming out of it for QUITE some time.

You can pick these up on Kiko's website or stores which are now across (and coming across) the UK.

Beauty products Wishlist 2015 - February

I posted a wish list last month about some of the products I was looking to get this year. So far i'm already quite on track and have managed to get my hands on two of the products mentioned in this post.  So i thought i would do a quick recap of the items which are off my wishlist and add some new items that have caught my eye.

Items off my Wishlist

Sleek Blush Palette In Pink Lemonade  £9.99 - I was luckily gifted this as a late Christmas present by my friend. It has also featured as a product of the month and all January and i have been loving this palette a lot so far.
Clinique Take the day off Cleansing Balm - £22.00 - I have just recently purchased this and it is on it's way to me as we speak. I am excited to try this and i am sure i will review this shortly with the Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm as comparison.

New Additions to My Wishlist

Moroccan oil Treatment 25ml - £13.45 - My hair has been so dry lately and i have been recommended this hair oil. I am interested to see if this works and i am glad they do a small size so that you can see if this is the best thing for your hair before buying a full bottle. They range also does shampoo's, however i really think my hair needs the full treatment first.

Bourjois Health Balance Compact Power - £8.99 - I am in real need of a new powder to try out and the blogosphere seems to be going a little mad over this one, of course I want to see what all the rave is about and i do love a bit of Bourjois.

Maybelline Instant Anti Age Rewind Concealer - £7.99- My grey circles seem to be getting a bit larger due to sadly a lot of recent stress, so i think i really need this product in my life to clear them up, i have heard this product is very good at that. It will be something i will be picking up.

Pixi Glow Tonic - £18.00 - I love toners and i really have wanted to try this one from Pixi, I believe this one will help to remove some of the dead skin cells that keep floating around on my face, especially in winter and get rid of them.

Charlotte Tibury Bronze and Glow - £49.00 - Oh this is my complete and utter reacher, I would love so much to be able to use this product, but it is so out of my budget. The packaging and the colour pay of is utterly amazing. Something i can look forward to in the future for sure.

Bareminerals Bisque Concealer - £18.05 - I already use a lot of Bareminerals products in my daily make up routine and it would be great if i could add this as my concealer. This might just finish the whole look off, not that i don't enjoy my current concealer but i would be interested to see how this looks.

Clinique Moisture Surge 50ml - £34.00 - I've just got my hands on a sample of this and i am literally in love, this for sure will be my next moisturiser purchase once i finish my current moisturiser. It makes my skin feel great and it has made my skin look a little less red. Can't wait to takes this into the long term.

And this is my new wishlist for February. I hope you have enjoyed and maybe i have spoiled you into buying something new.

Collective haul - Liz Earle, MAC, MUA, L'Oreal, Clinique and Revlon

So I have been doing a little bit of shopping, yes even in these cold winter months and I wanted to show you what goodies I picked up.

The first is from MAC. I haven't really bought too much from MAC, why i will never know!? so needed to rectify this because I felt such a shame to the beauty world. So I decided to pick up a couple of items. As a rule, i tend to pick my two play safe items when trying out a company for real and the two products are always a lip product and a foundation.

Mac Creamsheen Glass in Romantic Overture £17.50.

This is a glittery nude shade and i absolutely love it. It has such a great finish and isn't too sticky. The packaging is also just to die for, with the beautiful glittery touch, it really makes sense why MAC is one of the top brands and they really put their all into their products.

MAC Studio Fix Foundation NW13 £21.50

I was colour matched by the lady at the counter with this foundation and so far i really like it, i think it might be just a tad too dark but using little and blending, with powder it doesn't look strange on my skin. I really like the texture and the finish of this foundation is utterly flawless. I barely noticed any redness or anything on my skin. Truly impressed.

I next picked up a product from the Liz Earle and i bought this online from a blogger who was selling some Clinique samples.

Liz Earle Gentle Face Exfoliator £15.75

I love exfoliators, since running out of my soap and glory one i was wanting to try something new. After having two samples of the cleanse and polish recently from a beauty box and advent calendar, and was impressed by the product i really wanted to try something else from the brand. The smell of this is beautiful, with it's main ingredients being Eucalyptus, it really makes you feel like you are not just at a spa, but you know you are using a product with natural ingredients. It really cleans my skin and exfoliates it so gently. I will definitely be looking to even more Liz Earle products.

Clinique Moisture Surge - Item from a Gift Set.

I am after a brand new moisturiser and before i wanted to take the plunge, i saw that someone was selling some items from a Clinique giftset, so i decided to take the change and buy this one. I have heard a lot about the moisture surge and so far, i really do like it. My skin feels so much smoother, hydrated and my skin is showing less redness and blemishes. I am glad i have tried it, as much as a i love my Dr Organic moisturiser, sometimes the rose scent is not something i fancy smelling every day. The fact this is scentless, for me, suits what i am after more, I think as soon as my full size Dr organic's are gone, i will be visiting the Clinique counter.

And last of all three concealers, two for under the eyes and one for those pesky blemishes and spots that creep up on you.

MUA Undress Your Skin Undereye Concealer - £3.00

I didn't have too high expectations and well this concealer was ok, it concealed but it doesn't last all too long for me, it doesn't brighten much either, not as much as the L'oreal one pictured. For the price it does it's job but there are better on the market.

L'Oreal Touche Magique Concealer - £8.19

The dupe for the YSL Touche' Eclat, this is a very good under eye concealer, i really like the formula and it really does give my eyes enough brightness as well as covering up the dark circles. You can tell that L'Oreal owns YSL because it really does do a very similar job.

Revlon Colour Stay Concealer - £6.99
I wanted to try this because a lot of people say the concealer and foundation are not much alike. I really did not like the Foundation, everyone raves about it, but for me with dry skin, it was a dry skin clinger. This one, it isn't so bad but it does seem to cling a little like the foundation. Not as much, i do prefer the collection concealer still to this as i have never had these issues. Good coverage though for sure.

And that was my haul, i hope you liked it. If you did leave a comment and tell me if you have tried any of these products and what you liked about them.

Valentines Gift Guide 2015

So Valentines Day is just around the corner, and for all you non singletons it is a time of giving and showing the one how much you love them. Here are a few gifts that i would love to receive this day love of love.

So you want to give the one you love ring a but not quite that ring yet, this beautiful ring from Pandora is the perfect gift to show how much you love your significant other. Two hearts entertwined like the love you share for one another. It is a simple yet classic piece.

A great budget buy if you want to treat that someone special to a nice relaxing bath. You can use this lovely massage bar to help take the night into a little treat for one another. The love heart shape to give it that valentine feel. Don't forget the bubbles and champagne.

Sweet's are always top of the list on the Valentines day list, but after Christmas not everyone wants another round of chocolates to stuff their faces with. How about a sweetheart lollipop to add something different to the mix and show them how sweet they really are.

If you really want to go all out and impress, why not take to the skies and go for a romantic hot air balloon ride for two. A lot of these packages contain champagne as well, so why not hop on up and see the world from a completely different perspective. You might end up stargazing into each others eyes.

Roses are...Pink? Oh yes, why not charm your lady with her favourite love of pink with pink roses and tulips. Red roses are so last year and this lovely gift bag is beautiful and yet thoughtful by buying flowers which stray from the norm.

Get your man a romantic gadget with this wonderful chocolate fountain, because you won't have time for a long desert, this is a great and quick fun way to spend time together with your old faithful love chocolate. YUMMIE!

Give a gift that you can keep all year round and personalise a cushion. We all love a good interior items and these beautiful sentimental pieces are those to treasure for a lifetime. Maybe you can even back a snuggle on a sofa and a good romantic movie with this as your comfy head rest.

Ooo cheeky, but we all cannot deny, a lovely sip of champagne really gets you into the mood. The fact this champagne is the colour of love really add's that special hint to that special moment. So why not pop the cork and raise a glass to love.

Add that personal touch and not just celebrate that you are together, celebrate those moments you have been together from time gone by. This stunning canvas will really make heads turn and will show how dedicated you are to the one you love. Getting hanging!

I hope this gave you a few little tidbits to get your loved ones this year. Happy Valentines Day to all :)

L'oreal Elvive Smooth Intense Range - For Dry and Frizzy Hair

This is my latest shampoo and conditioner duo which i picked up with my local food shop, which i didn't think it would be as impressive because of it's price, however i have to say i am really surprised and very impressed by this duo.

In the winter month's my hair tends to go quite dry and really frizzy, so it was time to put away the greece removing shampoo and kick in some hydration to my hair routine.

The shampoo and conditioner both make my hair so feel smooth and fresh, but i have to say, they seem to do this in a way i haven't seen before with other shampoo's. My hair seems to go a lot straighter and tidier, there are no whip's or strange curled ends when my had dried. Before my hair would contain a few kinks, especially when i woke up in the morning where my ears are. Sadly I would really have to straighten for more to get it to look right (Which was so bad for my hair) and now it takes me half the time as these seem to have vanished completely.

I am love the feel of this combo in my hair when washing, the shampoo barely even feels like it is even there in my hair and requires very little lathering. I think this down to the Moroccan Argon oil in the shampoo. As someone who really hasn't tried any hair oils, i really think i am going to take the plunge and invest in some because i now believe this could be key to keeping my hair looking and feeling fantastic.

The conditioner really makes my hair feel nourished and gives my hair the hydration it needs. My hair feels a lot softer and the dry parts of my hair have become less brittle. This i appreciate as i do have short hair and there is nothing worse than feeling the sheer damage and having to have your hair cut a little too short than you would like.

Overall i really recommend this duo, especially if you struggle with shampoo and conditioner and your hair is really feeling a little dry this winter season. You will love this from Loreal.
